Douglas County Fire District No. 2 firefighters and paramedics were swamped between 8 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday, responding to a highly unusual 62 emergency medical service calls in the 24-hour period. “The paramedics cannot remember when they had that many calls in the 24 hours.
