WINSTON — Police are trying to identify culprits responsible for slashing more than 16 vehicle tires in a five-block area late Friday or early Saturday. At least a dozen vehicles in a Winston neighborhood north of Highway 42 and south of Lookingglass Road were damaged. The vandals targeted vehicles parked along Snow, Pintail, Elizabeth and Heidi avenues, Lori Street and Quail Court, according to the Winston Police Department. The same neighborhood was struck a week earlier by vandals who spray painted fences, sidewalks, utility boxes, a garage and streets. The graffiti included marijuana-related remarks.
