An organization hired by the city of Roseburg one year ago to revive downtown claimed successes Monday, while looking ahead to further improvements. In a one-year report to the council, Downtown Roseburg Association Director Jeff Bright said the group has worked hard to fill empty buildings. The city contracted with the association in October of last year to retain and recruit businesses and improve the looks of downtown. The city pays the association $22,500 a year from lodging taxes. “This partnership is a win-win for the city of Roseburg,” said Bright, who was hired as the association’s director in March. …
