ROSEBURG: Copper wire stolen from city

A large bundle of about a 1,000 feet of used copper wire owned by the city of Roseburg was discovered stolen Tuesday from a construction site at Riverside Park, according to the Roseburg Police Department. The wire was worth about $400 and stolen sometime between 5 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday from a city project to replace the footpaths in Riverside Park, Sgt. Aaron Dunbar said. Workers had pulled out the wire during construction because they were in the process of replacing it, he said. Police are investigating the theft. …
