Knitter starts holiday drive

A local knitter is again collecting homemade scarves, baby blankets and other items that will be distributed around the holidays to the needy.

Most of the items collected by Vi Angel are donated to Toys for Tots at Christmas. Other items go to the Roseburg Rescue Mission and Casa de Belen, a shelter for homeless teenagers.

About 300 items are donated each year.

Beginners wishing to participate but unsure of their skills are invited to contact Angel for assistance. Anyone who has items to donate may call Angel to pick them up.
