Workers spruce up Douglas County Museum exterior

Inside the Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History the exhibits remain serene, but recently there’s been a lot of activity outside. Workers are washing and painting the building, replacing damaged siding and installing new windows. The building that is more than 40 years old is getting fixed up with the assistance of young workers hired through Umpqua Training & Employment. Federal funds are paying for three workers between the ages of 18 and 21 and a supervisor to help with the museum project for two months.
