Roseburg council gives Dixonville landowners a one-year extension to join water system

Dixonville landowners packed Roseburg City Hall Monday night to ask for more time to decide whether to hook up to city water. They got it. The Roseburg City Council voted unanimously to extend the deadline by one year. Many landowners told the council that they were caught by surprise when they received a letter from the city last month saying they had to place a meter and start paying for water by Oct. 12 or forever give up the chance.
