Two Roseburg homes were damaged in fires that broke out Thursday afternoon and early this morning, according to Douglas County Fire District No. 2. One blaze was caused by a pastry that got stuck inside a toaster and the other by a malfunctioning floodlight. Firefighters responded to the first fire around 1:40 p.m. Thursday at 146 Atkinson Court. Upon arrival, they encountered light smoke coming through the door of one of the apartments on the first floor of the building.
