ROSEBURG Volunteers plan shoe box event Operation Christmas Child will kick off its annual collection of gift-filled shoe boxes with a gathering of volunteers 10 a.m. Saturday at Roseburg Christian Fellowship, 1376 N.W. Walnut St. The event will include a speaker and sharing ideas on how to plan for this year’s shoe box collection. On the November collection date, Douglas County residents will be invited to fill shoe boxes with school supplies, toys, hygiene products and notes of encouragement for Operation Christmas Child.
