MYRTLE CREEK School district seeks mediator The South Umpqua School District plans to seek a state-appointed mediator to assist in bargaining with its classified employees’ union. The district has been bargaining since April with its classified employees, which include secretaries, custodians, instructional assistants, library assistants and food service workers. Superintendent Steve Kelley said that since it may take two or three months before a mediator is available, the district will continue to negotiate a contract with the employees’ union, Oregon School Employees Association.
