Editorial: Roses & thorns

Valiant and valuable It sounds silly to say you can’t put a price tag on what these people do, because they don’t do it for money. Still, we sincerely hope the volunteers who gathered Monday at the Douglas County Fairgrounds all realize that our community simply can’t afford to do without them. More than 700 seniors who donate their time to various causes and services were feted with lunch and praise that afternoon at the 39th annual Recognition of Volunteers banquet.
