Oregon State Librarian warns against Douglas County library-museum merger

Oregon State Librarian MaryKay Dahlgreen said she doesn’t think putting one person in charge of both Douglas County’s library system and museum is a good idea, but she recognized while speaking in Roseburg Tuesday that sometimes tight budgets leave no choice. “This community needs both a library and a museum. I think it’s important that they don’t become one organization,” she told a crowd at the Douglas County Library.
