CANYONVILLE — Patti McCollum was excited in late September when she heard a world record had been broken in Rhode Island. A man by the name of Ron Wallace had just turned in a 1-ton pumpkin. “The Freak II” weighed 2,009 pounds. It was the largest recorded squash ever grown.
