ROSEBURG Car fire sends pair to jail An incident involving a couple trying to syphon gas from their car’s engine block landed the pair in jail late Monday after the car caught fire and the man and woman ran into a store to hide from authorities. Kenneth Lawrence Lee Ingram, 48, of Sutherlin and Paula Marie Hatcher, 57, were attempting to siphon gasoline from their car’s engine block into an antifreeze bottle at about 10:30 p.m. in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Stewart Parkway, Roseburg police said.
