ELKTON — U-Trans collected more political support Thursday as Elkton became the eighth Douglas County city council to endorse a public vote on forming a transit district. Elkton councilors unanimously approved a resolution calling on county commissioners to submit the question to voters in May. U-Trans has now won support from two-thirds of the county’s 12 cities. U-Trans Director Toby Notenboom said he still hopes to secure endorsements from the four remaining cities — Myrtle Creek, Canyonville, Drain and Reedsport.
