Roseburg High student’s service earns state accolade

It’s fair to say Sean Bowden was excited to learn his volunteer service, which includes comforting the sick and counseling the young, will be recognized in a big way. Bowden, a 16-year-old Roseburg High School junior, has devoted 323 hours to making the Mercy Medical Center emergency room a more comfortable place. He also helped found a drug-prevention program at Roseburg High.
