Governor names panel to untie federal land gridlock

Gov. John Kitzhaber has appointed a panel to address the funding and economic challenges faced by Douglas County and other Oregon counties with federal Oregon and California lands. The governor’s office released Thursday the names of the panel’s 14 members, which include county commissioners and representatives from conservation groups and the timber industry. Among the members are Douglas County Commissioner Doug Robertson and Roseburg Forest Products CEO Allyn Ford.
