ROSEBURG Friends take on Brice Creek The Friends of the Umpqua hiking Club is planning a hike Oct 27 to Brice Creek east of Cottage Grove. Organizers describe the outing as an easy six-mile shuttle hike. They also say it offers some of the best scenery available, with ferns, mosses, waterfalls and deep pools. Two options are available to extend the hike. Participants can climb 900 feet in a mile to Upper Trestle Creek Falls. Or they may choose to take a half-mile out and back to Lower Trestle Creek Falls.
