GLENDALE — An 84-year-old man who took a neighbor’s German shepherd for a 20-minute walk last summer says he thought he was being nice to an animal suffering in the heat. The neighbor thought otherwise. Shortly after returning the dog, Kenai, to its yard, Tom Ritchey was visited by a sheriff’s deputy who issued him a citation for felony theft and misdemeanor trespassing. The theft charge has been dropped and the trespassing charge reduced to a violation. But Ritchey, who pleaded not guilty, could still be fined and is scheduled to stand trial Tuesday in Douglas County Circuit Court. An …
