Trailer tips, scattering aluminum in front of Roseburg High

A trailer loaded with scrap aluminum tipped over in front of Roseburg High School on Tuesday afternoon, damaging a school fence and closing an Interstate 5 ramp for almost five hours. Johnie Scott, 62, of Grants Pass was driving west on Harvard Avenue around 1:45 p.m. when he turned right to go north on I-5 at Exit 124. Bins filled with the metal shifted, causing the trailer to tip over, Roseburg police Sgt. Jeff Eichenbusch said. The cab of the truck, owned by Smalley Trucking of Sutherlin, did not tip over, and Scott was not injured. The scattered aluminum closed …
