Roseburg street adopts pink glow  to remember breast cancer victims

Pink lights illuminate a downtown Roseburg street this week as a memorial to breast cancer victims and to express hope for a cure. Nearly every business on Jackson Street has turned on pink compact fluorescent light bulbs, and organizer Stuart Liebowitz, 64, of Roseburg said he hopes many will keep them on for the rest of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “It’s just a great way of all of us reminding each other how important it is to fight this deadly disease,” said Liebowitz, whose wife, Mary Cooper, died of breast cancer in 2005 at the age of …
