Tenmile man was among volunteers banned Boy Scouts

A Tenmile man who wanted to resume his involvement with the Boy Scouts after being convicted of molesting boys was barred in 1983 from coming back, according to confidential Boy Scout “perversion files” made public Thursday. David John Francies, who died in January in Myrtle Point at the age of 70, was one of two dozen Oregonians banned by the Boy Scouts of America because of allegations they sexually abused children, according to 14,500 pages of records posted online by Portland attorney Kelly Clark.
