UCC volleyball team splits league matches

OREGON CITY — The Umpqua Community College volleyball team rebounded from a Friday loss to fifth-ranked Mt. Hood with a 25-20, 25-20, 28-26 Southern Region win over Clackamas on Saturday. The Riverhawks (22-15, 4-3 South) are in third place behind Mt. Hood and Linn-Benton in the conference race. Kendahl Weiland led UCC with 13 kills and Karyssa Gomez added 11. Gomez made 14 digs, Alexis Ruffing 12 digs, Melissa Lund 19 assists and Haley Webb 12 assists. Nicole Hall and Burkleigh Ford each contributed five kills.
