Editorial: Awareness of cancer must be sustained year-round

The risks are high. Before the year is over, an estimated 300,000 women and more than 2,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States alone. There will also be an estimated 40,000 deaths attributed to some form of breast cancer this year. Fortunately, the battle against breast cancer is tilting favorable because more people than ever are aware. Americans have joined forces to create more awareness in breast cancer than probably any other disease.
