Hurricane Sandy hits a little too close to home for some

East Coast residents with Douglas County ties today spoke of riding out Hurricane Sandy, which brought widespread flooding, power outages and spooky moments. “It was really kind of eerie,” said former News-Review copy editor Julie Byrd-Jenkins, who lives in a third-floor apartment on top of a hill in Newmarket, N.H.
