LOOKINGGLASS — Dwight D. Eisenhower made an appearance at the Lookingglass Elementary gymnasium Thursday afternoon in the guise of fifth-grader John Heffner in a general’s costume. John, 10, was dressed as Eisenhower for the school’s “wax museum” presentation of U.S. presidents. John was among the fifth- and sixth-graders assumimg the identity of each of the country’s 43 presidents, including Barack Obama, who is considered the 44th president because Grover Cleveland served non-consecutive terms as the 22nd and 24th president. Students in lower grades shuffled around the room and listened to two-minute recorded speeches about the highlights of each president’s administration. …
