City officials will gather the owners of Roseburg’s 18 secondhand stores this month to hash out a compromise on displaying merchandise outdoors. In the meantime, the city won’t fine secondhand stores for outdoor displays, as long as shopkeepers are trying to reduce clutter, Community Development Director Brian Davis said Wednesday. Davis met Wednesday with the owners and managers of four secondhand stores on Stephens Street. At The Dusty Hutch, Davis told owners Shane and Dawn Hutchison that their outdoor display will be all right for now if they reduced duplicate items and mixed more new merchandise in with the old. …
