DIAMOND LAKE: Fishing ends, resumes Jan. 1

The fishing season at Diamond Lake, about 85 miles east of Roseburg in the Cascade Mountains, ended Wednesday. The lake will reopen for fishing Jan. 1, earlier than the late April opening date of past years. The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission recently approved Diamond Lake as a year-round fishery. The daily limit will remain eight fish per day with an 8-inch minimum and only one fish longer than 20 inches. …
