Letter: Smoking in cars is hazardous to passengers

Others don’t want the smoke We have passed laws to protect ourselves from the adverse effects of second-hand smoke in most public settings, but we have failed to address an additional and very serious smoking-related problem. I see people every day driving around smoking cigarettes with the windows rolled up, while there are children, elderly people and codependent people in the vehicles. These people are victims and in my estimation, they are being tortured, unable to defend themselves against the unhealthy acts of others.
