The Roseburg branch of the American Association of University Women will host a bead party Nov. 17 to benefit the women of Uganda. The event will feature sales of beaded jewelry and shea butter products made by Ugandan craftswomen. The items are priced from $4 to $25. All of the net profits will be invested in Bead for Life development projects to fight the extreme poverty of women in Uganda, who live on about a dollar a day.
