Losing Canyonville council candidate happy for the winner

It’s official: Marilyn Loomis beat Susan Moran-Kaidme in Douglas County’s closest and friendliest election of 2012. Loomis edged her friend Moran-Kaidme by two votes, 291 to 289, for a seat on the Canyonville City Council, according to election results certified Monday. The outcome was muddied because as many as three potential voters may have been disenfranchised when the Douglas County Clerk’s Office issued them the wrong ballot.
