Roseburg woman adds energy to Audubon society

Diana Wales has taken full flight into volunteering after retiring from her law partnership in 2010. Wales, 65, has been a volunteer all her life and is now the president of the Umpqua Valley Audubon Society. “It’s ironic because I’m not all that interested in birds,” she said. Her interest instead is focused on healthy ecosystems, and preserving nature and the Audubon Society fits these interests, she said. “More of my time and energy just happens to be going into Audubon because that’s where there was the opportunity when I was looking for something to do,” she said.
