Roseburg sets rain record; earth starts sliding

The rain and records continued to fall Sunday, causing minor road problems throughout Douglas County. Roseburg received 1.08 inches of precipitation Sunday, barely edging out the previous record of 1.07 inches set in 1998. The Oregon Department of Transportation reported some small problems but no major traffic delays. There was a slide Sunday morning on Highway 138 near Toketee Falls at Milepost 52. One lane was reopened, and ODOT spokesman Jared Castle said today the department is working on reopening the other lane in another day or two, weather permitting.
