A Roseburg man’s wild ride on a dock floating down the rain-swollen South Umpqua River Sunday afternoon ended in an arrest after he reportedly refused initial rescue attempts. Larry Allen Strain, 59, of Roseburg was in the Douglas County Jail this morning on $40,000 bail. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and six counts of reckless endangerment. Strain was on a private dock near West Neill Avenue across from Stewart Park at about 4:20 p.m. Sunday when the dock broke away and began floating down the river.
