Recycle fees for dumping Should we pay the county for recycling? As kids in the 1940s, we were paid money for lots of usable stuff like rubber, glass and metals of all kinds, even tinfoil. We were paid by the pound. It was for the war effort. The county makes a lot of money from our free recycling.
