UCAN secures funding to build apartments for recovering addicts

A Portland foundation has awarded the United Community Action Network a $125,000 grant to help build a 10-unit housing complex for low-income residents recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. UCAN Director Mike Fieldman said the grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust is the final piece of funding necessary to create Camas Ridge Apartments in Roseburg. Most of the funding for the $1.9 million project has come from state agencies, including Oregon Housing and Community Services and the Oregon Health Authority, UCAN’s resource development director, Andrea Romine, said.
