Oakland to hire a new city recorder

OAKLAND — The city of Oakland will have a new city recorder within the next couple of weeks, the retiring city recorder, Barb Mock, said today. The City Council met Wednesday and chose one person from three finalists. The city declined to release the name of the person who will be offered the job or the names of the other two candidates. Mock is retiring after eight years with the city.
