Douglas County houses priced between $100,000 and $175,000 are selling faster this year than last, but more expensive homes continue to move slowly. “What I would probably tell anybody is that activity is up, but prices are down,” Roseburg broker Walt Gayner said. “Properties at $150,000 or less are clicking along way more than other price categories.” Maybe one or two properties priced above $500,000 sell each month, he said. In the smaller communities outside Roseburg, agents said lower-priced houses in reasonable condition have been quick to sell, leaving those areas without much inventory in that price range.
