ROSEBURG: Women suspected in burglaries

A 38-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in connection with two burglary reports, Roseburg police said. Shantel Mariedith Rice was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree attempted burglary. She was issued a citation and released after being taken to the Douglas County Jail. Police on Tuesday took a report of a burglary in the 800 block of Nash Street. The suspect was described as a short, red-haired woman. A woman matching that description was reported trying to break into a garage Thursday in the 900 block of Parkview Court.
