Roseburg police dog helps capture fugitive

WINSTON — A Roseburg police dog helped the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team arrest a 31-year-old Winston man Thursday evening who had been wanted for more than a year on suspicion of violating parole and drug charges, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Jeff Alan Lavrar was arrested around 5 p.m. Thursday after a short foot chase into woods near his home in the 2900 block of Kent Creek Road south of Winston. Two people he had been staying with, Randy Lee Evans, 45, and Linda Ramirez, 53, were arrested on suspicion of housing a fugitive and drug possession. Deputies …
