Another strong storm to strike Douglas County

Another storm system is expected to pass through Douglas County tonight and Thursday, bringing high winds and heavy rain, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight’s forecast calls for rain and winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph, weather service meteorologist James Bunker in Medford said. Thursday’s rain could reach near-record levels of 1 to 1 1/2 inches, Bunker said. “It’s not quite record-breaking, but it would probably be in the top eight for the amount of rain in a one-day period,” Bunker said.
