True to the tradition of squeaky wheels, it was the troublemakers who drew the most attention this year in News-Review headlines. Certainly, kind deeds and charitable acts abounded. Our reporters and photographers brought many of those stories to our pages each week, whether it was the launch of the Roseburg Food Project, a community park cleanup effort or an Eagle Scout’s accomplishment. But as readers saw in Sunday’s paper, other reports were designated as the top stories of 2012. With one exception, the 10 were rife with strife, woes, wrongdoers, struggles, grief and outrage.
