U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio was one of the few House Democrats to vote Tuesday against compromise legislation to avert the fiscal cliff. The Springfield Democrat joined most Republicans in opposing the measure, which passed the House 257-167 after passing the Senate 89-8. Oregon Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, both Democrats, voted for passage.
