The man who police say fired at officers during a motel shootout in Roseburg last month appeared in court Friday and pleaded not guilty to 14 charges, including five counts of attempting to murder police officers. A barefoot Jonathan Derrick Lackey, 23, was led into Douglas County Circuit Court in handcuffs, leg irons and a green padded “suicide smock” that extended past the lanky man’s knees.
