Feds to pay most of slide repair bill in Drain

Federal disaster funds will pay for the majority of repairs along the curves on Eagle Valley Road between Drain and Yoncalla, Douglas County Public Works Director Robb Paul told commissioners Wednesday. The slide on the south side of the road just outside the Drain city limits occurred last January. The storm that caused it was severe enough that the repairs qualified for federal disaster relief funds. The county hopes to solicit bids for the repairs in July, with the work to be done in August and September, Paul said. He said he did not yet have an estimate on how …
