A nonprofit organization that connects people with social services reports an increase in requests for help in the last three months of 2012. The hotline, reached by calling 211, received an average of 180 calls a month from Douglas County residents, an increase of 17 percent over the previous three months. United Community Action Network and Greater Douglas United Way are the lead organizations for 211info in Douglas County.
