A Douglas County program to reduce the need for foster care received a boost from the Meyer Memorial Trust last week. Trust representatives announced Friday they have awarded $300,000 to the multi-agency project Kids in Common. “This is wonderful news for Douglas County,” the director of CASA of Douglas County, Susan Knight, said. Knight said the Kids in Common program is a collaboration of CASA, Douglas C.A.R.E.S., the Family Development Center and Child Protective Services.
