Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin sticks to his guns

Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said Thursday he’s taken some heat for his letter to Vice President Joe Biden and has been accused of misunderstanding the Constitution and his role, but he said he has no regrets about voicing his opposition to new gun laws. “It is where I stand,” said Hanlin, who was invited by The News-Review editorial board to elaborate on the letter in which he stated his office wanted no role in enforcing new federal gun laws.
