Standing on the San Francisco 49ers sideline on their home field at Kezar Stadium back in the late 1950s were the likes of Y.A. Tittle, Hugh McElhenny, Joe Perry and Gary Wayman. Tittle was the team’s quarterback and McElhenny and Perry were the team’s running backs through that decade. They would eventually become members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Wayman? He was a young Boy Scout who was an usher at Kezar and had the opportunity to stand near those gridiron greats.
