GLIDE —The Glide School Board decided this week to close the district’s middle school in two years and will soon pick a new superintendent to oversee moving seventh- and eighth-graders to the high school. Four finalists for the full-time superintendent position will meet with school board members and Glide residents Monday evening, each to make a case for why he or she is the best person to grapple with declining enrollment and the elimination of the middle school.
